As Seen on TV Kits #1

When working on your VW, ALWAYS think Safety First.  Warning: The following link is VERY GRAPHIC and not for the weak hearted or Children under the age of 18. HERE is what can happen if you disregard safety!

OUR LEGAL disclaimer!

  • Keep all combustible materials away from areas when welding

  • Always wear a welding helmet or goggles if you would like to see for the rest of your life

  • Be careful of welding around others.  It can cause severe burns to skin and eyes..like a very bad sunburn.

  • Use gloves when welding or grinding parts but not when using saws or drills of any kind.

  • Keep all of your tools as clean as possible.  Definitely clean them after you use them.

  • ALWAYS USE JACK STANDS and wheel chocks when lifting up your VW.

  • Work on as flat of a surface as possible.

  • NEVER Jack up a VW on a severe incline of over 15 degrees

  • Use Impact resistant Fluorescent drop light

  • Remove all jewelry, watches, and loose articles.  Avoid wearing any loose clothing.  Tie up long hair.  Not doing any of these things will cause injuries and death.

  • Wash your hands after removing old parts and before installing any new parts.

  • Be sure to do any repair in a clean dry area.  Failure to do this will get you a ride in an ambulance!

  • It is best to have a second person to help you with repairs.  That way in case something happens, they can call an ambulance!

  • Think before you do any repairs.

  • There are only a few areas around a VW in which safety is critical.  Any work done under a VW is one. Removing the engine; and yes the brakes.  Also Fuel tank and fuel lines. Finally the ignition system.  35,000 volts can kill!

  • We are NOT joking about any of these things when it comes to safety!
